KazMunayGas and Shell Discussed Prospects of Cooperation in Geological Exploration

Askhat Khassenov, KazMunayGas (KMG) CEO, met on September 25 in Almaty, with Ali Al-Janabi, Country Manager of Shell in Kazakhstan. During the meeting the parties discussed prospects and opportunities for cooperation in the field of geological exploration.

KMG and Shell Kazakhstan are studying geological and subsoil exploration projects in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the meeting it was noted that Shell is a strategic partner of Kazakhstan. The parties expect to further strengthen partnerships and explore new prospects.

KMG is now focused on a large-scale seismic survey in five areas of the Aktobe, West Kazakhstan and Mangistau regions to get the data until the end of this year. Foreign partners already apply with queries in relation to some of the areas.
